Anak Indië – documentary
Remko Willems composed the original score for the documentary Anak Indië, directed by Hetty Naaijkens-Retel Helmrich.
The film, produced by Scarabeefilms and distributed by Periscoop Film, explores identity, migration, and cultural memory within Indo-Dutch, Moluccan, and Peranakan Chinese communities.For the soundtrack, Willems wrote and produced 26 original compositions (out of 31 tracks), recorded in his own studio.The score is characterized by a layered, textural sound, combining string instruments with self-built and experimental sound sources, resulting in an intimate and immersive musical landscape.•Kristallen Film Award (Netherlands Film Festival)
